PENGARUH BENTUK TELUR DAN BOBOT TELUR TERHADAP JENIS KELAMIN, BOBOT TETAS DAN LAMA TETAS BURUNG PUYUH (Coturnix-coturnix Japonica)
Abstract
OF EGGS AND EGG WEIGHT SEX, WEIGHT AND OLD HATCHING HATCHING QUAIL (Coturnix-coturnix japonica)
ABSTRACT
The aim of the research was to examine the influence of egg shape and egg weight of Japanese quail egg towards sex, weight, and time of hatching, and the interaction between the shape and weight of Japanese quail eggs with sex, weight, and time of hatching. Materials research using 162 eggs of Japanese quail. The research methodused wasCompletely Randomized Design with factorial design twofactors. The second method is the square root transformation for the variable of sex. The results showed that the egg shape had no significant influence (P>0.05)to variable of sex, and egg weight factor had a very real influence (P<0.01)tovariable of sex. Shape factor had no significant influence (P>0.05) to the weight of hatching, and weight factorhas a significant influence (P<0.05)to the weight of hatching. Shape factor and weight factor had no significant influence (P>0.05)to hatching time. Results of the research can be concluded that eggs with heavy weights greater opportunity to produce DOQ male gender and vice-versa, and the higher weight of the eggs will be producing DOQ with high weight and vice-versa. Based on the research results, it is recommended for hatching eggs quail laying for use with light weight.
Keywords: egg shape, egg weight, hatchingsex, hatching weight, hatching time.
