PEMBEKUAN VITRIFIKASI SEMEN KAMBING BOER DENGAN TINGKAT GLISEROL BERBEDA
Abstract
Suatu penelitian dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas spermatozoa kambing padapenambahan konsentrasi gliserol yang berbeda dalam pengencer telah dilakukan dan
diharapkan dapat menentukan kadar gliserol yang tepat untuk mempertahankan kualitas
spermatozoa kambing hasil pembekuan secara vitrifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa
pemberian gliserol memberikan pengaruh berbeda terhadap motilitas spermatozoa pasca
thawing, yaitu 0% (30,00±12,25%), 7% (30,00±12,65%), 14% (13,33±9,31%) dan 21%
(7,50±2,74%). Pengencer Andromed tanpa penambahan gliserol dapat memberikan motilitas
individu post thawing yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan penambahan gliserol 7%, 14% dan
21%. Dengan demikian untuk pengencer Adromed disarankan untuk tidak perlu dilakukan
penambahan gliserol lagi, untuk pembekuan semen kambing karena mampu mempertahankan
motilitas spermatozoa post thawing.
