PENGARUH LETAK CAGE DALAM KANDANG TERTUTUP TERHADAP KUALITAS TELUR AYAM PETELUR HY-LINE BROWN

Abstract


Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh letak cage dalam kandang tertutup terhadap kualitas telur ayam petelur Hy-Line Brown. Materi yang digunakan adalah 96 ekor ayam petelur Hy-Line Brown umur 57 minggu. Pakan yang digunakan adalah pakan lengkap untuk ayam petelur fase layer produksi PT. Charoen Pokphand Indonesia dengan kode 324 KJ. Metode penelitian adalah percobaan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap. Perlakuan penelitian adalah tiga letak cage yang berbeda, yaitu dekat inlet (P1), tengah (P2), dan dekat outlet (P3).  Variabel penelitian meliputi luas permukaan area telur, kedalaman kantong udara, dan berat jenis. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis sidik ragam dan jika terdapat perbedaan antar perlakuan dilakukan uji Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan yang nyata (P>0,05) pada luas permukaan area telur, kedalaman kantong udara, dan berat jenis telur pada letak cage yang berbeda dalam kandang tertutup. Kesimpulan pada penelitian ini adalah bahwa letak cage dalam kandang tertutup tidak memberikan pengaruh negatif terhadap kualitas telur ayam Hy-Line Brown. Disarankan dilakukan penelitian uji pH darah untuk mengukur tingkat cekaman ayam petelur pada letak cage yang berbeda.
