PENAMPILAN REPRODUKSI SAPI PERANAKAN SIMMENTAL DI KABUPATEN TULUNGAGUNG JAWA TIMUR

ABSTRAK
Penelitian tentang penampilan reproduksi sapi peranakan Simmental di Kabupaten Tulungagung telah dilakukan. Materi penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah 440 ekor sapi peranakan Simmental yang ada di wilayah Kabupaten Tulungagung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah survey. Variabel yang diamati yaitu : system perkawinan, umur pertama dikawinkan, umur penyapihan pedet, service/conception (S/C), umur pertama beranak, jarak antara dua kelahiran dan panen pedet per tahun.. Data yang diperoleh ditabulasi untuk kemudian dihitung rata-rata dan simpangan bakunya dan dianalisa secara diskriptif.. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa system perkawinan adalah Inseminasi Buatan (IB), umur pertama kali dikawinkan untuk sapi betina : 19,77 ± 3,62 bulan, sedangkan untuk sapi jantan tidak diketahui.  Umur penyapihan pedet : 3,41 ± 0,74 bulan. Induk dikawinkan setelah beranak : 4,96 ± 0,55 bulan. Umur pertama kali melahirkan : 28,20 ± 3,49 bulan . Calving interval : 15,01 ± 0,92 bulan dan S/C : 2,10 ± 3,49 kali, panen pedet per tahun : 33,87% dengan kelahiran pedet jantan : 11,56% dan pedet betina 22,31%.. Dari hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa penampilan reproduksi sapi Simmental di Kabupaten Tulungagung tergolong baik.

Reproductive performance of Simmental cross breed cattle reproductive performance in Tulungagung Regency
ABSTRACT
This research was conducted to evaluate Simmental cross breed cattle reproductive performance in Tulungagung Regency. The materials used on this research were 440 Simmental cross breed cattle. The method used survey. The variables observed were: the system of mating, age of the first mating, age of the calf weaning, S/C, age of the first calving, calving interval, and calf crop percentage per year. The data obtained was calculated mean and deviation standard and be analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the  system of mating was Artificial Insemination (AI). The age of first mating were 19.77 ± 3.62 months for female, and unknown for male. The age of weaning the calves were 3.41 ± 0.74 months. The first mating of postpartum were 4.96 ± 0.55 months. The age of fisrt partus were 28.20 ± 3.49 months. Calving interval were 15.01 ± 0.92 months and S/C was 2.10 times. Calf crop percentage was 33.87% with 11.56% for male calf and 22.31% for female calf. In conclusion, Simmental cross breed cattle reproductive performance in Tulungagung is good category.
